Build v1 AB IS

Sprint 3 · Due · 10 points

Build v1 is not a finished product. It's a first test of whether your plan survives contact with reality. Something technically broken but thoughtfully built scores higher than something polished with no real process behind it.

What to Submit

Three things:

  1. Link or screenshot: What you built. Deployed link, prototype, mockup, paper sketch photographed — whatever state it's in. Unfinished is fine. Not started is not.
  2. One design decision: Something you chose to do (or not do) and why. "I used a simple checklist instead of a flowchart because the user has 3 seconds, not 30."
  3. One known failure: Something you already know doesn't work or isn't addressed yet. This is not a weakness — it's proof you tested your own thinking.

Tips for rapid prototyping with AI

Use Claude/ChatGPT to generate a first draft of your interface, checklist, or tool — then modify it based on your specific user and moment. The AI gets you to 60%; your design decisions get you the rest of the way.

What counts as a "build"

Anything from a working web tool to a paper prototype to a physical card. The format should match what your user would actually encounter. If your user is in a hospital room, a website they'd never open on their phone is the wrong format.
