Look-back 1: Problem Selection

Sprint 4 · Extra credit · ~25 min · 4 required · 2 optional · 10 pts · Due

10 points. ~25 minutes. You leave with one honest sentence about how you actually make choices — the kind of sentence that, if it’s true, changes how you approach Sprint 4.

Extra credit · 10 points

Optional · Sprint 4 Look-back series

This is an optional extra credit assignment worth 10 points.

It's part of the Sprint 4 Look-back series — a chance to revisit earlier judgment calls with the benefit of hindsight. Each look-back asks you to look at one piece of Sprint 1–3 work meta-evaluatively: not to redo it, but to ask what your choice actually reveals about how you make decisions.

You don't have to do this. It's optional. It's here because the work itself is worth doing — and the points help if you've fallen behind.

How this works · Read first

The Look-back workflow — seven steps.

  1. Open the form below. Read Step 1 inside the activity, which links to your original Sprint 1 or Sprint 2 submission.
  2. Re-read your original problem/partner-need submission. Read it as if someone else wrote it — you're looking at the choice, not the writeup.
  3. Answer each question honestly. The cognitive work has to be yours. Vague or performative answers waste the assignment.
  4. Use the AI sparring partner on Steps 2–5 to stress-test your thinking. It asks questions back — it won't write your answer for you. Step 6 is yours alone, no AI.
  5. Copy your responses. Enter your name at the bottom, click Copy responses for Google Doc. The full markdown lands on your clipboard; a preview opens so you can double-check.
  6. Paste into a Google Doc and download as PDF. Create a doc titled "[Your name] — Sprint 4 Look-backs" (this is your single Look-back doc for the whole series), paste the markdown in, then File → Download → PDF Document.
  7. Submit the PDF to Canvas. PDF only.

Important: Your Look-back doc is separate from your Sprint 4 Solution Brief. Each new look-back you do gets added to this same Look-back doc, and each PDF you submit contains everything you've written so far. Do not submit text. Do not submit a different file format. Only PDF exports of your Sprint 4 Look-backs Google Doc.
